Augite andesite microscope thin section ideal for educational use. Andesite is a fine grained igneous rock and these specimens in particular, feature large phenocrysts of augite, a pyroxene mineral. The specimens used to create these slides, were collected from Thirlmere, Cumbria in the UK. The section is made to 30 microns thickness and the glass is 46 x 27 mm in size with a cover slip. Supplied in a protective card sleeve with a label, ideal for microscopy.
