Specimens of Scapolite, collected from Afghanistan. Scapolite is a term that describes a group of rock forming aluminium. calcium and sodium silicate minerals with chlorine, carbonate and sulphate. Scapolite is also a generic term that describes a mineral within the group whose exact chemical composition is not known. These specimens measure 1 – 3 cm approximately and also fluoresce orange – green under UV light. Specimens come individually in a polythene bag with an information label.
