Skarn (Andradite Garnets) – Namibia

$11.54 $15.35
Specimens of Skarn, rich in andradite garnets and green amphibole, which have been collected from Namibia. Skarn is a term used a describe a range of coarse grained, metamorphic rocks, that are rich in a group of minerals known as calc-silicate minerals. These are minerals that are rich in calcium-magnesium-iron-manganese-aluminium and silica. Due to this, the composition and appearance of skarn material can vary greatly between pieces. These pieces happen to be rich in andradite garnets, with inclusions of green amphibole. This results in these specimens being mostly reddish brown in colour. They are available in multiple sizes and come supplied in a white card tray with information label.
