The ‘Guide to Common Rocks’ is another excellent laminated fold-out chart produced by the Field Studies council, it will help with the identification of rocks whilst you are out in the field. It includes high quality photos of 71 specimens, explains a little bit about them such as their such as their grain size, how they form and minerals which compose them, while on the opposite side, more information can be viewed, including information on the various rock groups, chemistry, properties, field tests and more. A great guide, so compact, yet full of so much information, when folded it is only 24 x 17 cm in size, yet measures 100 cm in length when completely unfolded. An ideal aid for students, amateurs and professionals when information is needed quickly when working in the field.
