We have cut and polish these orthoceras pairs from Morocco. These samples beutifully display the internal sections, making them both a useful educational specimen, as well as a striking addition to any collection. Orthoceras are ancient nautiloid cephalopods that existed during the mid-Ordivician period, around 370 million years ago. Nautiloids are known for their distinct spiral shell, while orthoceras possess a long, straight one instead. However, orthoceras shells still retain the distinct chambers, connected by a siphuncle and separated by walls called septa. We offer these orthoceras pairs three different sizes and provide them in a polythene bag with information card. Small: 5 – 9cm Medium: 10 – 14cm Large: 15 cm
