This gasket is available for Franklin Airplane engines – Part # RG-18532-A INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE: 1. All surfaces must be clean and dry, Use NO lubrication of any type. This also includes the threaded holes in the case. 2. Install gasket – DRY. TORQUE 15 TO 20 INCH pounds gradually around and across the cover to pull down evenly over the entire cover. * 3. Perform engine run and check for leaks. 4. If there is a leak, DO NOT CONTINUE TO TIGHTEN This will only make the leak worse. Remove the gasket and examine its condition. If it is still serviceable, wash it briefly in hot water and soap, rinse and dry off. Then install. 5. To reuse the gasket, clean as described in step # 4. * CAUTION – DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN! Overtightening makes the gasket bulge out or squeeze out. TO REUSE GASKET: Wash gasket BRIEFLY in hot soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry all surfaces.
