This high quality traditional blend of noble Kava has been made using the finest quality kava plants from the Vanuatu islands of Santo, Pentecost and Malekula. Preparation Instructions. Place approx. 35 grams in a straining bag, tightly close and knead and squeeze in a bowl of warm water – approx. 500ml – for 5 to 10 mins. Alternatively, place the desired amount of kava and cold water in a blender, blend for 4 mins, strain and chill. Once ready, kava should be consumes in half cup sized servings and swallowed in 1 or 2 quick gulps. Wait 10 mins before drinking another serving. Kava works best when consumed on an empty stomach. It is also recommended to cleanse the palate with a chaser (e.g., fruits) in between serves. Note Each person requires a different amount of Kava to enjoy its effect. This is a generic guide. Dosage. Use 35g of powder to 2 cups of water is common for one person, or around 250g of powder to 4L of water for a small group. Additional Information. The roots of the plant are used to produce a drink with sedative and anaesthetic properties. Kava is consumed throughout the Pacific Ocean cultures of Polynesia, including Hawaii, Vanuatu, Melanesia and some parts of Micronesia.
