Bürgerbühne – Production Visit

Start: 17 Jan. from 2 pm at State Theatre Dresden | End: 18 Jan. at 2:30 pm at Hellerau 

ABOUT
This production visit aims to inspire other houses to test the idea of a ‘citizens theatre’ and to create networks between those working on citizen theatre models. The visit gives Theatron members the opportunity to see the Bürgerbühne Dresden in action, and to discuss its vision, organisation, working practices and results with the artistic and management teams, as well as with the citizens involved.

Those wish to participate in the ‘Tagung zur Bürgerbühne‘ , could then return to the Staatsschauspiel Dresden. Those who travel back home can reach Dresden airport in only 10 minutes from Hellerau.

  • Trains: Dresden is 2¼ hours south of Berlin-Hauptbahnhof (€32). For Leipzig choose from hourly ICE trains (€26, one hour) or RE trains (€18.30, 1¾ hours). The S-Bahn runs half-hourly to Meissen (€4.80, 40 minutes). There are connections to Frankfurt (€76, 4¾ hours) and Prague (€26, 2½ hours).
