Theatron is a network of European performing arts organisations who aim to explore creative and innovative ways of engaging new audiences.

The Greek name for theatre – theatron – stems from theasthai: ‘to regard’ or ‘to look’. theatron highlights the importance of a creative dialogue between performers and audiences. It encompasses the entire creative process from programming via artistic creation, performance, outreach and communication. It is this original understanding of theatre that we want to foster and promote. More about us
The network was founded by 12 European houses - smaller and bigger institutions, repertory companies and festivals, together with Berlin University as scientific partner. Schools, research and educational instiutions join as associated partners. Meet our members

To achieve its objectives, Theatron promotes the following activities:
• joint artistic productions (touring, adaptations, co-productions)
• audience engagement (audience research, CRM, outreach, etc.)
